RØRY
Restoration
SADCØRE
Out on January 31
A musician. A survivor. An open, honest, caring soul. RØRY is a lifeline. To her already dedicated fans and to those who will discover her through ‘Restoration’. RØRY’s ethereal fragile Celtic-twang vocals are versatile – in the ranges they reach and in their styles (rap in ‘Hold On’, rage in ‘If Pain Could Talk, What Would It Say?’). Yet as close to the bone as her lyrics cut, they are never sung by someone who wants to sound like a victim – RØRY rises. As do the melodies, which are rich and uplifting. Her grit and determination are palpable. She’s fought. And she will always be fighting – to never go back (‘One Drink Away’ is so raw), for a better society (‘Morality $uicide’) and for herself and her fans (anthem and call to arms ‘Sorry I’m Late’). Musically ‘Restoration’ flies gracefully through gorgeous layers of keys and waves of gently rolling beats, but it’s not afraid to rip out its guts with crashing guitars and angrily spit out some of its lyrics. As inspirational as the artist that made it, ‘Restoration’ will speak to souls. And may well save some.
